Victory Seed Company

The Victory Seed Company is family owned and operated, working to help fellow gardeners succeed by providing popular vegetable, herb and flower seeds. We are also heavily involved with the preservation of rare, open-pollinated, heirloom seeds.

We deal exclusively with internet orders. Customers order seeds from our website and we send them their order through the USPS. The main tasks at our office is:

• Packing seeds. We use various means (spoons, scales, and automated hoppers) to fill seed packets with pre-determined numbers of seeds. This work can be tedious.
• Picking orders. To fulfill orders, we walk up and down our rows of shelves finding the items that go with each order. When all items are gathered, we take it to the shipping room, pack the products into padded envelopes, weigh the finished item, and print off postage for later pickup.
• Seed germination tests. We use petri dishes with paper towel type discs to germinate lots of seeds. This generally means we count out 50 seeds, arrange them on the disc, and then gently water them in. We then track the germination process over the course of about a week.

The company is owned by Countrysiders Dave and Trish Whitinger, and the general manager is their oldest son Jon. We maintain a clean and friendly environment, with a clear code of conduct that all employees read and sign. No offensive music, peaceful, quiet, friendly and calm is the kind of office environment we cultivate. We supply gardening seeds to tens of thousands of families every year and the work is very rewarding.
